It is with great sadness that we announce the closing of the Pioneer Valley Therapeutic Riding Association. The PVTRA has been a fixture in the Valley for 27 years providing riding lessons to children and adults with disabilities.

We would like to thank everyone who supported the program as a rider, teacher, volunteer, participant, donor  and supporter. A tremendous thank you goes to PVTRA Executive Director, Patricia Barry. She was a driving force in this program and the program would not have made it this far without her.

PVTRA began with the friendship of Candace E. Dixon, Margaret Lanphear, JoAnn Bernhard and Elizabeth Donaldson and their involvement with the therapeutic riding program at the State School. The program was incorporated in 1984. The program was currently operating out of Wild Barry Ridge Farm in Belchertown, MA.

Once again, thank you to everyone involved with the program, whether as a participant, volunteer, donor or staff.  Your support made a huge difference to the program.
