Volunteering With PVTRA

Horseback riding lessons are fun for everyone. For the adult or child with a disability, horseback riding lessons can unlock the door to a new world of ability and self-confidence. For the volunteers the riding lessons offer new experiences. They learn about horses, make new friends and learn new skills.

We need your help. Volunteers are needed to help get the horses ready for lessons by brushing and tacking up the horses. Volunteers are also needed to assist during the lessons as sidewalkers walking beside horse and rider, or as horseleaders to lead the horse during the lesson. Horse knowledge, and experience is helpful but not necessary.

“To come to a program and see children and adults with difficulties be so brave and want to try so hard is more than rewarding.”
-Teresa Fischer, Volunteer
